Creative Forces Day 2019 for Year 5 and 6

On Thursday 6th June, 6 children from year 5 and 6 went to the University of Winchester for a Creative Forces Day.

At 8:45 am,  we all had to meet up at the Basingstoke train  station to catch our train at 9:00 am. When we went through a tunnel,  all of our ears popped. Once we arrived at the University, we all got an identity card, notebook and bottle for free. The first workshop was archaeology where we learnt about the Stone Age periods - Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic. Here, ee made cave art drawings using our experiences from living on different camps.

The next session was with a graphic designer, where we created lots of doodles such as a bear, cat and mouse. The final workshop was a campus tour, where we got to see where the students live and study. After lunch, we left the teachers behind and were able to discuss what it is like to be a service child and how we can support one another in school.

The trip was lots of fun and we hope, in the future, that other children get the same opportunity as we did.
