On Wednesday 24th January it was E-Safety day! We learnt all about staying safe on the internet (guess why). At the beginning of the morning, year 6 had circle time about what we think of the internet. We were also put in scenarios and were asked what we could do, and what we should do. Also we had to pick an emoji for what we felt about a particular statement e.g. watching a funny video and people comment on it. Most people chose the happy emoji.
Then, after brake, we planned an animation with what you could do and what you should do. A situation a few of us could’ve had is:
- A friend wants to meet up with someone they’ve met online
- someone is telling a friend to be mean to a stranger online
- sharing a picture to a friend who shares it without your permission
After lunch, we had a visitor called Mr Hay and he was talking to us about staying safe on online games and messaging so that we would never let out our personal details. Finally we started making our stop motion animations. None of us managed to finish them so we are going to complete them on Friday with Mrs McLaughlin.
Did you have fun on E-safety day?
