Stubbington 2021
Each day we will add a little more about our adventures.
Each day we will add a little more about our adventures.
In English, we have started our Learning Journey based on the book 'Once' by Morris Gleitzman, where we follow the story of a young Jewish boy caught up in the difficult times of the Holocaust. Today was an exciting day within this journey. For so long, we have not been able to welcome any visitors into Year 6 to hook us into a new topic, but today we welcomed Dr Alasdair Richardson from Winchester University to tell us all about how Jewish people lived through the Holocaust.
Year 6 loved using their detective skills to look at photos, sharing their views about the laws that were thrust upon Jewish communities, as well as using their fantastic inference skills to justify their thoughts - excellent communication skills!
It was a fantastic opportunity to ask all the questions we had been eager to answer since starting the book and a great insight into how our book's main character may have lived in Poland at the time of the Holocaust.
Thank you Alasdair - we look forward to seeing you next year!
Year 6 didn't disappoint with their fabulous and inventive costumes for World Book Day 2020.
