Year 6 love to read!
Year 6 didn't disappoint with their fabulous and inventive costumes for World Book Day 2020.
Years before have seen an abundance of Harry Potter and David Walliams characters but this year, the variety was wonderful.
We headed up the day with an assembly and were all inspired to find the confidence to read our favourite stories out loud. Mr barry took the lead by reading The Tiger who came to Tea by Judith Kerr. In doing this, we were able to add 220 reads to our 'Share a million stories' school total. In the afternoon, along with writing book reviews and creating a new book cover for the film UP, Year 6 continued to add some more reads to our school total by sharing our favourite parts of the books we had all brought in.
" My favourite book is Matilda as I love how she gets revenge on other people by using her magic." - Billie.
"My favourite book is Boy Soldier by Andy McNab because it's plot is so intriguing and I can imagine I'm there." - Josh.
We also had snippets of several David Walliams stories, The BFG by Roald Dahl and a section from the classic story of Paddington Bear to name just a few.
Olivia shared her prediction about the plot of a book that she is really enjoying called A Place Called Perfect by Helena Duggan - maybe we should all look it up!
Let's keep up with our reading Year 6 - we need to help Britain reach 1 million stories shared!
