Hertha’s History Day

For History Day in Year 6, we looked at the brilliant Hertha Ayrton, who was an engineer in the Victorian era. She is known as ‘The woman who tamed lightning’ as she made electric streetlights safe for the public. She was born in Portsea and is an inspiration to both scientists and women- showing you can do anything you put your mind to.

We created beautiful double page spreads about her life and discussed her significance. We then created beautiful thank you cards for everything she did.
