On the 8th January, Year 6 had a Lego robotics workshop.
First, we had to use a Mindstorms Lego kit to build a robot with a supersonic sensor and wheels. Then we used Lego Mindstorms EV3 software to code the robot to pass a “driving test”; use the sensor to go around a ‘planet’ and land on a ‘meteor’. When we had passed, we went to complete some challenges on the stage. Some required us to add extra components using the kits. The challenges included picking up a Lego astronaut and placing it on the space station, and pushing a satellite dish until it was upright.
We really enjoyed our workshop and wish we could do it again!
