In RE, we have been focusing on the symbol of light and how it affects people in different ways. One aspect that we have looked at is Advent within the Christian religion. Last week, Helen and Paul from All Saints church came to visit to talk to us so that we could further our understanding of Advent. When they came over, they showed us an advent wreath and the candles. Each candle represents someone and something. There are five candles in total. Four are around the wreath and one in the middle, which is white, represents Jesus. The other four represent; joy(purple), love (pink) , peace (purple) and hope (purple). We had great fun learning and looking at the advent wreath! At the end, we were able to ask questions on things we were unsure about.
