Our School

Mayhill is an integral part of the Odiham village community with strong links to the local church. We are proud that a large number of our pupils come from RAF Odiham and as such the pastoral support and care of our children is of great importance to us. Our children display excellent behaviour and positive attitudes to learning.

It was built to a high standard as a boys’ Grammar School and has been significantly modified for younger children in recent years.

The accommodation includes a purpose built library, a music room, a children’s kitchen and a large number of shared areas for teaching and group work outside of class. There is a large assembly hall with a permanent stage, IT suite that compliments our use of wireless tablets and ipads and a presentation room. The 3 acres of play area includes a grassed sports field, two playgrounds and a 'Chill Out' club offering an alternative space every lunchtime. At the rear of the school, we run a before and after school childcare club from 7.45am to 6pm.

Mayhill is a Junior School taking pupils in the age range 7 to 11. We currently have 240 children on roll. They come from a variety of local schools, although most tend to come from Buryfields Infant School.

Parents are able to state a preference for Mayhill for their child irrespective of where they live unless the school is oversubscribed.

Most of the children move on to Robert May’s School when they leave at 11 years of age, although once again parents have the right to choose any secondary school.

We maintain strong links with Robert Mays and Buryfield Infants to preserve continuity in our children's education.
