Junior School

Performing Arts

Here at Mayhill, we strive to give every child plenty of opportunities to find the performer within.

Weekly singing assemblies provide a platform to experience making music as a 200 strong choir. We sing modern songs to keep everyone engaged and often include dance moves and harmonies to make the performance our own.

Twice a year Mayhill pupils take to the stage to show their skills in drama, music and dance. Two year groups, Year 4 (Christmas production) and Year 6 (Summer production) take the lead with the Year 3 and Year 5 pupils as the supporting choir.

Mary Poppins 2019

Shows such as Annie Junior, Scrooge, Mary Poppins Junior have been performed with such confidence on our fabulous Mayhill stage. This year, our Year 6 pupils will tackle the popular Aladdin Junior in July.

As well as our big productions, every class will also perform a class assembly alongside curriculum performances or exhibitions.

As Mayhill love to sing, our choir has been going from strength to strength over the last 3 years. We meet weekly and everyone is welcome to join. Our choir performances are in high demand within our local community: to name a few, we have an annual slot in the Odiham Christmas Extravenganza and the Odiham Summer fete; we sing at the Cross Barn at Easter; we have joined the RAF in their Christmas celebrations; and 2019 saw an invitation to perform in the Victoria's Promise Christmas charity concert. A busy schedule keeps everyone excited for our next performance.
