Mayhill Junior School is committed to providing an appropriate and high quality education to all the children within our school. We believe that all children, including those identified as having special educational needs, have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to them. We have high expectations, within an inclusive environment, for each and every one of our children. We strategically plan for improvement ensuring a sense of community and belonging, which offers opportunities to learners who may find learning more difficult or have varied life experiences and needs.
The main aim of our SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) policy and provision is to help to ensure that all children can lead full and independent lives, become confident, and be successful in their futures.
We understand the term equality to mean that not everyone should be treated the same, but that everyone should be treated fairly. We recognise that everyone has individual needs and that they all have the right to have their needs respected.
Children who have any kind of disability should have special care and support so that they can lead full and independent lives.
