Sports & Health
All children at Mayhill have access to a rich and varied sporting programme. Our sport ethos ensures all pupils play as part of a team, whilst providing opportunities to perform at the highest level of competition.
During PE lessons, all children will participate in a range of core team sports including rugby, football, netball, tennis, hockey and athletics. Pupils will also represent their house in intra-school competition events that take place each term at the end of a unit of PE.
Outside the normal curriculum we offer an impressive extra-curricular programme. Clubs run from 3.15 - 4.15pm offering activities such as netball, hockey, golf, fencing and rounders. Most clubs and actives offer children the chance to represent the school at competition level. Follow the 'Extra Curricular' link on the left to see a full timetable of extra-curricular provision.
Being a healthy school goes way beyond eating bananas and walking to school - although we recognise that is a good start!
More so it is about creating a culture of positive attitude, allowing for individuality and pupil voice and being healthy in mind and body.
Mayhill was awarded the Healthy Schools Award in March 2016.
