Sports

All children at Mayhill have access to a rich and varied sporting programme. Our sport ethos ensures all pupils play as part of a team, whilst providing opportunities to perform at the highest level of competition.

During PE lessons, all children will participate in a range of core team sports including rugby, football, netball, tennis, hockey and athletics. Pupils will also represent their house in intra-school competition events that take place each term at the end of a unit of PE. 

Outside the normal curriculum we offer an impressive extra-curricular programme. Follow the 'Extra Curricular' link on the left to see a full timetable of extra-curricular provision. 

 

Performing Arts

Here at Mayhill, we strive to give every child plenty of opportunities to find the performer within.

All together now!

Weekly singing assemblies provide a platform to experience making music as a 200 strong choir. We sing modern songs to keep everyone engaged and often include dance moves and harmonies to make the performance our own. 

Every class will also perform a class assembly alongside curriculum performances and exhibitions. 

Productions at Mayhill

Twice a year Mayhill pupils take to the stage to show their skills in drama, music and dance. Two year groups, Year 4 (Christmas production) and Year 6 (Summer production) take the lead with the Year 3 and Year 5 pupils as the supporting choir.  

Shows such as Annie Junior, Scrooge and Alice in Wonderland have been performed with such confidence on our fabulous Mayhill stage.

In 2019, our stage had a revamp and our lighting system, a complete overhaul thanks to the amazing work of the Friends of Mayhill group and the generous donations given throughout the year. This was just in time for our Year 6 production of Mary Poppins resulting in a show fit for the West End stage. Since then we have also put on some fantastic productions of Aladdin and Shrek.
