In science, we have been learning about light and shadows. In our last lesson, we completed an experiment where we shone torches onto glue sticks to see how shadows are formed. Once we realised that objects had to be opaque to create shadows, we moved the position of the torch to watch how shadows can change length. We found out that when the torch was above the object, the shorter the shadow and when the torch was lower the shadow was longer. This corresponds with the time of the day. At 12pm shadows are shorter as the sun is higher up in the sky.
