Learning in Physical Education is underpinned by our learning values, the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum, and delivered through our Mayhill Learning Habits. By following our curriculum, pupils will become physically educated through experiencing a range of activity areas that:
Children participate in high quality PE lessons twice a week, covering at least three different sports/skills per term.
Teachers use and adapt Get Set for PE planning and resources to ensure lessons across all years show progression. Teachers also receive regular professional development thanks to the sports coaches from ActiveMe360, who teach three afternoons a week.
Our play leaders organise physical activities and small games for children to interact with at lunchtime.
We provide children with the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities that are inclusive, enjoyable and increase the children’s physical activity
