On Thursday, 22nd Feb, we were excited to welcome Dr Richardson from Winchester University who came to talk to us about the Holocaust and life as a Jewish person during this time. Making links to our English Learning Journey and our class book – Once, Morris Gleitzman – and our RE unit on Sacrifice, we looked at historical evidence to discover how Jewish people lived and the laws that they were made to follow during World War 2. The workshop gave us more of an insight to how the main character (Felix) in the book Once, would be feeling and the challenges he could come up against during his quest to find his parents as the war rages on.
